In addition to her impeccable clinical skills, she is so compassionate and fun to be with. She always makes patients feel comfortable, puts a smile on their face, and puts their needs first.
Caroline is an active part of the school community. She is a varsity athlete, talented painter (who even donated a piece to the school’s clinic, and created artwork for the school’s magazine for Black Lives Matter), part of SPEA (the student ethics committee that received an award for being the chapter of the year), and has been raising awareness and money for Movember, as part of her school’s team.
Alana is a hard-working student. She is always striving for excellence, and her hard work is paying off! She is already doing amazing dental work in her dental program. Her work does not end when she goes home, she continues to think about her work and ways to perfect it at the end of each day. She has such a passion for dentistry.
Through his volunteer work, Evan has enriched the lives in his community and third world countries. He is passionate about giving back to those less fortunate and hopes to inspire others to give back in their community. Locally, Evan has volunteered many times in the SHINE dental clinic that provides free dental care to those in financial need.
Evan is also on the Health and Wellness committee and plans events that provide students with information and lectures on preparing for Dentistry's rigorous studies.
Evan also volunteered on Sharing Smiles Days, which provides children with disabilities an opportunity to meet a dental professional in a non-clinical setting. Students provide oral health instruction and provide toothbrushes and tools to help with the children's oral health.
Braeden has shown interest in helping others from a young age and exemplifies empathy and compassion for others in everything he does. He is now in third year at the University of Toronto and has been mentoring prospective dental students to enter the profession which shows his dedication to others and the profession. One of the most outstanding qualities that Braeden has is his genuine kindness and his drive to succeed. Not only did he conduct himself with professionalism but also compassion
He has shown an ability to adapt to the challenges of working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment without compromising quality of care. He volunteers with the Junior Smiles program and Compass North and delivers virtual workshops for underserviced populations. He has researched the dental management of Parkinson's Patients and is currently developing a chairside tool for dentists to integrate AAP Classifications.
As the 3rd year class president at the University of Saskatchewan, Ashlyn has shown numerous examples of her care for others both to patients and colleagues. She is a supportive individual with admirable leadership skills and truly deserves some recognition. She goes above and beyond to help everyone in her path.
Giving back is just one of the many qualities she has. If she is aware someone needs help, guidance or assistance, she goes above and beyond to do what she can to ease a person's struggle. Ashlyn sets a great example of how to foster good teamwork and execute patient care in not only a professional manner but personable as well. She is a true role model and leader. Someone who puts everyone else ahead of herself every day.
Stephanie is serving currently as the President of the Canadian Dental Students Association. She has had to meet with students, members of organized dentistry and university faculty members to organize conventions, resolve student-faculty problems, all being done with a smile. She frequently must run in these times of COVID zoom meetings across Canada. She does all these extracurricular activities while completing her final year of dentistry.
Stephanie has served as a role model for many of her classmates as well as a beacon for a new generation of dentists.
