There aren't enough words to describe how truly exceptional David is, not just as a student, but as a person. So many times he has told me how deeply he feels for the needs of his patients, how they remind him of his own family, and how he wishes he could devote more time to them and their care. Above all, David is truly the funniest and most friendly person you could ever hope to meet, and this translates into how he interacts with each and every patient. His amazing sense of humour alleviates any fears his patients may have, and his personable approach and gentle touch have even lead one patient to state that they want him to be their dentist after he graduates.
Perhaps what is most remarkable about David is how modest he has always been about his success.
I am nominating this person as she has many amazing attributes. She is kind, loyal, hardworking, and shows integrity in the workplace. She has worked as an RDA, and as a RDH. She has persevered through it all to reach her goal of becoming a dental student and one day Doctor of Dental Surgery. I know from working with Alana and attending dental hygiene school with her that she strives for perfection – the quality of care she gives each patient is of the highest standard. I know she will do amazing work and provide excellent care for her future patients as a doctor as well.
Alana has worked so hard (and continues to work very hard) to reach her goals and I think that needs to be appreciated.
Her involvement in the planning and execution of DIRECT dental clinic providing dental care to the community. This clinic will be student run two Saturday's a month for the academic year. She has dedicated so much time and energy to making her passion a reality and teaching those around her the importance of giving back.
Her community and classmates are better for knowing her and we can’t wait to see what she does with her future.
